The Alder Lake Cranberry Gift Shop started out in the warehouse during our harvest season. People had been coming to our marsh to buy cranberries since the early 50's. In the mid 80's it started becoming a tourist attraction, people came to see the harvest and buy cranberries, but some people were traveling through the area and wanted jams, candies and gifts, items that were non-perishable to bring back home. As the years went by the cranberry food and gift section kept expanding in the warehouse, showcasing products featuring the cranberry. In 2004 a permanent Alder Lake Cranberry Gift Shop was opened on Main street in Boulder Junction, it is open May through December.
The Family cranberry marsh was sold in 2011, but the Alder Lake Cranberry Gift Shop in Boulder Junction is still owned and operated by Sue & Richard Indermuehle. In the spring of 2012 the gift shop moved to a larger location, 3 doors down the street, to the corner of Hwy M and Main Street.
The Alder Lake Cranberry Gift Shop in Boulder Junction is open May through December. We feature a wide array of cranberry and northwoods specialty items. Including a large selection of cranberry cookbooks, candles, gifts, pottery, textiles and lodge décor. Cranberry glass from several different companies, originating in the USA, Europe and Canada.
We also carry an extensive line of gourmet & cranberry food items, from salsas, jams, juice, and candies to cake mixes, muffins, breads and tea, and many more items to numerous too mention.
